The Ecotasa or Balearic Tourist Tax is a tax established by the Balearic Parliament which is levied on stays at any tourist accommodation in the Balearic Islands from 1 July 2016: Law 2/2016 of 30 March on the tax on tourist stays in the Balearic Islands.
It amounts to €3.00 plus 10% VAT per person per day’s stay in a 3-star or higher hotel. The applicable rate varies according to the category of the establishment.
